Your parcel searches stay yours.

Summary
WI 2026 does not send your searches, downloaded county data, or parcel notes to GoGIS. Public parcel attributes are read-only. You can add photos, sketches, and text notes on a parcel; that content stays on your device unless you choose Parcel Notes Sync with a nearby WI 2026 device. On iPhone, the app uses Apple MapKit. On Android, using My Location shares your device location with Mapbox to show your position on the map.
Data stored on your device
Downloaded county parcel data, search terms and results, app settings, and any photos, sketches, or notes you attach to a parcel are stored locally on your device so the app can work. This information is not sent to GoGIS. The platform-specific map-service handling described below is separate.
Photos, sketches, and notes
You can attach photos, sketches, and text notes to a parcel for your own field work. WI 2026 may request camera access when you take a photo, and photo-library access when you choose an existing photo. You can decline or revoke that access in your device settings. This content is stored on your device. It does not edit the public parcel record, and it is not sent to GoGIS.
Parcel Notes Sync
If you choose Parcel Notes Sync, WI 2026 can copy parcel notes, photos, and sketches to a nearby WI 2026 device on the same local network. That transfer is device-to-device. GoGIS does not receive the content. On Android, discovering a nearby device may use the local-network or nearby-devices permission. You can decline or revoke that access in your device settings.
Location and map services
WI 2026 may request your device location only when you use My Location. You can decline or revoke location access at any time in your device settings.
iPhone and iPad
WI 2026 uses Apple MapKit for maps on iOS. Apple’s handling of MapKit services is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. WI 2026 does not send your searches, downloaded county data, or parcel notes to GoGIS.
Android
WI 2026 uses Mapbox for maps on Android. When you use My Location, your device location is shared with Mapbox to show your position on the map and support the map service. Depending on your device setting, this may be precise or approximate location. Mapbox may also receive de-identified location and usage telemetry from its mobile maps SDK.
Network use
The app uses a network connection when you choose to download public county parcel data or load a network-backed basemap. Optional Parcel Notes Sync uses the local network to talk to a nearby WI 2026 device; it does not upload notes to GoGIS. On Android, Mapbox’s handling of map-service data is governed by the Mapbox Privacy Policy. WI 2026 does not send your searches, selected parcels, or parcel notes to GoGIS.
Children
WI 2026 does not knowingly collect personal information from children or adults.
